On July 10th at 8pmslt SpaceJunkywill perform in Second Life at the SCI FI Convention as part of the Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. Rod Roddenberry the son of legendary science fiction producer Gene Roddenberry and Sci Fi visionary in his own right is a special guest speaker and will talk about the future of the Star Trek Empire.
Tania's avatar Shakti had the pleasure of meeting Rod in a private roundtable meeting today and Rod himself will be giving SpaceJunky a listen soon!

RIP Planet 7 - Crystal City.

More and more SpaceJunky are being sought out by major corporations to play "virtual concerts" in their virtual environments. Corporations like

SpaceJunky now has their own private island in the virtual world of Second Life, where fans can interact with each other, go to concerts and even rent a virtual mansion and live on the island. Linden Lab the creators and owners of this world have now featured them on their website in their Showcase Section, which highlights THE hottest places to go in this virtual realm of over 10 million people.

SPACEJUNKY ISLAND SHOWCASE"

SpaceJunky's involvement with SL has resulted in Sony Creative Software's AcidPlanet hosting a remix contest for their song Gravitational Pull.This is the same remix contest that they have hosted for the likes of Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Nine Inch Nails and Black Eyed Peas.

This came about because of SpaceJunky's involvement with SL and their recent story on CNN International about how the band is using SL to reach out to music fans all over the world.

How To Enter
First, create your remix of "Gravitational Pull." If you don't already have ACID® software, download the free ACID XPRESS™ software. Next, download some of the loops. Using the ACID music creation software, paint the loops into your remix. When you're finished, return to this page and click the Upload My Entry button. Upload your track, and you've entered the contest.

The contest closes on July 11th and Shakti and the band will choose the winner, they also have plans to host some rave parties featuring their favorite remixes from SL and yours could be one of them. If you come to AcidPlanet from SL be sure and leave a message on the forums and your profile saying that you heard about the contest in SL.

A few years before SpaceJunky released their new debut CD "Resident Alien" they played as the studio band behind country rocker Steve Azar. Not only did they deliver him a #2 hit single that remained on the charts for 48 weeks they also played a smoking swamp-roots version "Big Blue Sky" written by SpaceJunky producer Rafe Van Hoy, which has just been recorded and released by Reba McEntire on her First Valentine's Day Album "Love Revival" - Available Exclusively at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores everywhere. Reba at her rockin' best! Check it out!

Tania met Reba on her "Girls Night Out Tour" while she was musical director and keyboardist for Jamie O'Neal.

After doing a show in the virtual world of Second Life for Zoppini Jewels, the band was contacted by Marco Zoppini himself and asked whether they would like to wear his jewelry. Zoppini had already been kind enough to provide the band with "virtual" jewels at the show in Second Life but now they will wear the Florence companies beautiful jewels in real life and be featured in promotional material throughout Italy. Thank you Marco!
